BUBANJ TO SHINE

Third week in a row members of the Association PULS, with support of City Municipality of Palilula and organization of civil society My Bubanj, EKOpolis, Green and You, Office for Youth of Palilula Municipality, successfully achieves activity and its ecological project “SAVE THE SMALL FOREST – LUNGS OF LEDENA STENA”. Citizens of this settlement, encouraged with results of action held on the occasion World Day of the Forest March 22nd, don’t give up of the idea that this space arrange as recreation park, located at the edge of the forest complex “Bubanj”.
This weekend, in action of cleaning, of green space, located between two schools – Elementary School “Bubanjski heroji” and Special School “Bubanj” included, except of the members of Association PULS and Green Network of the City, Voluntary Center, ZOO Planet as and many residents of this part of the city, pensioners, parents of the children of the elementary school “Bubanjski heroji” – highlights Svetlana Petrovic, President of the Association Puls. Goal of this action was to remove residual waste that have accumulated for years here by very own residents of Ledena Stena – our neighbors. It is time to stop with this kind of destroying of the complex Memorial Park “Bubanj” and that this space, preferably back to the children.
“After activity that is successfully this week organized, we can say that we came of start position. No more garbage in this part of the park, tracks are arrangement – says Boban Mikic, member of the Council of the City Municipality of Palilula, otherwise one of the participants of the cleaning. This small “green oasis” again it is children`s and ready for two weeks to be place where will on the occasion of the Planet Day maintain cross for the students of the elementary schools from the territory of the Palilula Municipality.
According to participants what was lacking during the this week action was presence of the mechanization of the PUE “Gorica”. By Assembly decision of the City of Nis to this enterprise is entrusted job, to take care about green area of the city. NGO, which participated in this project, expressed their willingness to support activities on arranging of Bubanj. “We expect help and socially responsible companies to make this excursion finally clean. We appeal on the people from this part of the city to not longer to dispose garbage when there is no place, because and yours children is playing here – contained in the message from Ledna Stena.
Only in this part of Bubanj, that was place of voluntary activities of the cleaning of the area, totally set out 80 cubic meters of garbage. Garbage collection, its contribute to the ecological activities gave and PUE “Mediana”. Otherwise, City Municipality of Palilula and this spring successfully achieves Program of activities on arrangement of inter – space greenery and solving citizens requests. Goal of this activities is increase of green and park areas. Nis` Palilula since 2099th is participant of the project of national campaign “Green Towns of the Serbia” initiated by People`s Office of the President of the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with EKOpolis Network and partner in international ecological campaigns “Billion Trees for Planet Earth” – “Green Tracks of Europe” – “Stop climate changes”, “Clean up the Serbia – Clean up the World”.
